It was a pleasure to work on my Amish mini quilt! I used wool batting for the first time. It is so easy to quilt! The needle almost does the work by itself :-), but I am not sure if I will use it again. I much prefer a flat result and to my taste wool has too much texture. Tho I am very happy with the finished result. I call it "De Zandhaas", after the mill which gave me inspiration for this quilt :-)

Oh LUCY! It is wonderful! I love what ylu did on the borders! And I"m a sucker for gridwork! I love, love, love it!
I was going to send you a pic of my hand quilting project today but got too tired last night to snap a pic! I think I need more quilting lines so I was going to ask you opinion!
That's very pretty Lucy, I like the colors together. I think I'm going to start making more small quilts like that, to hang on the wall or put on tables. I need to use up some stash.
Lucy! Beatiful! You inspire me to do more quilting. How many hours do you think you spent doing this one? I think miniquilts still take a lot of time! I like the pictures of your daughters being normal kids and enjoying life. My two daughters are now 30 and 32 years old and I miss some of those long ago pleasures. Still, I have grandchildren not too far away. Lots of blessings to count.
Yes, this is a little gem. You've got me thinking about making something small. It will be a while before I start anything new cos there are too many things in progress already.
It is beautiful! Congratulations!
Oh This is so beautiful! You even made one square in the background a little darker. Did you do this for the same reason as the amish do, because nothing is perfect? Or is it just a coincidence? I never used wool in a quilt but I like to try it out sometime!
It's beautiful, Lucy. Your handquilting is spectacular. I love Amish quilts.
It turned out lovely. Your hand quilting looks very nice. I haven't used a wool batt yet but I've heard that they're nice for hand quilting. I'm still having fun with my doll sized Crazy Quilt.
It turned our really beautiful. You do a really amazing job. I have never tried the wool batting. I will have to give it a try.
What lovely stitches you make! The quilt is just wonderful. It's nice to see hand quilting.
Lucy, Last weekend at a quilt show Kaye England, the guest speaker, said that she uses wool batt for all the bed quilts she makes for actually sleeping under because of the way they feel and also remarked how easy wool batt is to needle. I bought a wool batt once and then ended up not using it so perhaps I'll find another use for it. Your small quilt is wonderful.
Lucy, what a wonderful quilt . . . it really says, "Amish." I have enjoyed working with wool batt a couple of times but find it needs A LOT of quilting in order to be flat - which is the look I like. It sure is nice to sleep under - not too hot and not too cold *s*
Hi Lucy!
I vind je mini-quilt heel leuk!
I am German and I am still working on my Dutch!!! I just found your blog on somebody elses link list!
My sewing skills still need lots of improvements, I would love to sew such quilts one day, too!
Groetjes uit Duitsland!

Well done Lucy - it's gorgeous!
Your Amish quilt is very beautiful. The colours are harmonious.
very nice!
How close to Holtum are you? I just got a lovely package from a friend who lives there.
Your doll quilt is stunning. I love it. I also love the dresser it's hanging over.
The girls are cute. That's a photo to save for their wedding days.
BEAUTIFUL !! You did a GREAT job!
Oh how nice to see a QUILTING post. The quilt is precious! So many interesting things happening only in the top - and then the stitches puling it all together. Pure loveliness!!
Your newest quilt is really beautiful! Using the wool batting was perfect for getting just the right effect for an Amish quilt. You also have the colors just right. Great job!

My goodness Lucy, how many stitches do you have on that needle? I'm lucky to get three, you must have it down to a fine art.
Your corner of the room looks like something from a magazine, just beautiful.
Wool does flatten down after a while,I really like using it for bedquilts, in fact just about all my quilts have wool in them these days. It's very popular in Australia, probably because we have such a huge wool industry here.
It looks lovely and seems right at home on the wall.
Ik sluit me aan bij Mereth en alle anderen. Toen je de quilt donderdag liet zien, nog niet klaar en 's avonds op je blog. GEWELDIG EN INSPIREREND
Another wonderful little quilt! I never get tired of seeing them. yours is beautiful!
Such a beautiful Amish inspired quilt! I liked the photo of you hand quilting on the quilt and then the way you displayed it in your home!
Gorgeous. What a great color combination.
Your Amish quilt is beautiful! I've just found your blog and spent an hour or so to read and look thru your previous posts! You are making so many beautiful quilts and your handquilting is awesome!
Your hand quilting is so tiny! I love the texture that wool batting gives a handquilted project. It goes with your sideboard perfectly :-)
It is BEAUTIFUL. I Love your hand quilting. Gorgeous!!!!
So beautiful, what perfect stitching!!
Lucy that is absolutely gorgeous! Your quilting is perfect!
It turned out beautifully.
I loved clicking on the pics to make them big! I see so many things I remember from my visit to your house. I see the jar with the buttons...oil candle..is lit and glowing! I have mine here too. Good memories, huh? I think you would like the wool batting for a full sized quilt..but yes, for minis..it is probably too bulky. Still nice to try, though? right?
Bonnie
Lucy, this quilt is beautiful, and youf ound such a nice place to put it. Very nice. I really must do some handquilting, maybe with wool.
Very nice quilting on you amish wall-hanging and I love the beautiful mirror-backed dresser you have. Perfect for storing quilts!
